Waves of Grace

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10 NIV

If not for grace where would I be?  Let us remember where I was when grace surged through me like a title wave of love and saved me: I was broken and hurting. I had recently lost a baby and lost the lover who was the father of that little girl. I had almost lost my job and was in a hostile work environment where I was wrongly accused and constantly threatened to be fired. I had overwhelming stress in every area of my life – and without God, I had no hope. But Grace. Beautiful redeeming grace washed over me.  My situations have not changed – yet I have changed, through grace. Grace had an effect on me. This was my first wave of grace.

Heaven Father, I pray that you open the eyes and ear and the understanding of these readers and speak to them through your grace and use this blog for your glory. Please cause your grace to have effect on each of them in a noticeable way – Cause your grace to have effect on my unsaved and back-slidden loved ones. Thank you Lord that if it was not for your grace we would not be where we are today. We praise you Lord for your love and grace. In Jesus name we pray – Amen

Notice that Paul says he ’worked harder than all of them’.  He had so much to overcome when grace had its effect on him. Another response to grace (in this blog we are constantly looking at different responses to grace described in the Bible) is to work hard. This is the response of obedience that I have shown you many times before.  And Paul follows up immediately to remind us that even though we are compelled to obey and work, it is not through our action but the free gift of grace that effectuates change.  Always, from the moment we are willing to obey and be saved – through every step of our relationship with God – it is through our faith enacted out with obedient willingness, that God actually does the work.

It is through grace, that anyone shall survive the “last days”. It is through grace that we shall understand the signs of the time.  It is through grace that there will be prophesy, visions and dreams.  And it is through grace that God warned us to try the spirits to see if they are of Christ (John 4).

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.” Acts 2:17 NKJV

I read my Bible, I pray, and I asks God for the grace and ability to walk in the Spirit as we have discussed in previous posts. So when I get sent links to videos and other things published on the internet claiming to be prophets of my God and visions from my Father and dreams given from Christ Jesus, I am cautious. I make sure they are lining up with the word of God. Are they lining up with the lessons I am studying and the Word of God? Do they line up with my pastor, my shepherd, which God placed me under? Do they line up with discussions I have with my brothers and sisters in Christ? They must line up, be similar, and be confirmed.
And then I start to notice patterns; multiple people seeing, hearing, talking about the coming wave, or waves.  Wave. (Other words I repeatedly hear: shaking, awaken / revival, and exposure of truth while mankind refuses to believe it)

“There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves” Luke 21:25 NAS

I can talk about all the strange and wonderful things happening right now in the skies – but this isn’t a science blog and that part of this verse isn’t my point. Let us discuss perplexity at the waves.

Waves in these dreams and visions are symbolic – they all speak of waves of God moving, pulses, and title waves. What if these wave prophecies are the waves spoke of in Luke – what if the roaring of the sea are the springing up of the wells of living waters? Symbolic or not let me say, the waves are happening.

In March 2020 a wave of the spirit of fear washed over my land, it had started in China and washed over the entire world.  Jesus, himself, said this would be a sign of the times.

26 men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:26-28 NAS

The spirit of fear fulfilled Luke 21:26 – as we saw man’s hearts failing them due to the fears. Between March and May of 2020 the suicide rate around the globe was the highest it has ever been. (When I say it is urgent to share the love of Jesus, you can see why)

After the spirit had settled in and while prayer warriors fought it, we see the wave of grace.  I saw people seeking God, asking me to witness to them, and others returning to Christ.

“Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.” Psalm 42:7 NAS

Deep calls to deep – it is time to go deeper in Christ. Lukewarm Christian are about to be so deceived most will choose the wrong sides. As I heard a pastor preach: “casual Christians will be casualties.” God forbid!!! Please wake up! Therein is the shaking!!! Let’s sound the cry:

“And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” Romans 13:11 KJV

And then came the spirit of division – racial tensions spreading over all the world.  This is a demon just like fear is a demon. These types of demons are called principalities.  Division’s job is to raise nation again nation, divide families, divide nations, raise race against race – Jesus came for ALL Jew and Gentile. He made us all. United in Christ is where we need to stand and that is where we see the wave of grace. Amidst the burning building and graffiti, in the brokenness of so many hurting people was a cry out to God. And the wave of grace as these lives start seeking Jesus.

We have seen other waves which are smaller over different parts of the world with each large earthquake, with each wild fire, with each plague of locust, and with each disaster came a wave of the precious grace of God.

We have also seen waves over the Christian in Africa and the Middle East as wave of killings come, so do waves of grace.

And as I write of all these horrors and injustices – my heart breaks for the world who does not know the plan of God – for those who are not walking in the spirit enveloped in the peace of the Lord. And as I write this my spirit knows it is time for the next thing followed by a wave of the Lord’s grace to get through it. And I know it has begun I think it will probably be realized by the time this publishes or soon thereafter.

Ahh, but the waves of grace are raising up a people full of God’s grace and power! People like Stephen in the book of Acts.

“Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.” Acts 6:8 NIV

As we see this is exactly the sort of people the world needs – a person moving in and through the Might God – we need a mighty God, not a washed down version – we need power, great wonders, and signs!! We need people healed, saved, demons cast out! We need manna from heaven when there is no food – but we need to focus on the provider and be filled with His grace. we need people who answer, “Here I am Lord, send me.”

Pray for grace, and grace abundantly – grace upon grace!!! Pray for our brothers and sister in the Lord to be given a greater measure of grace.  Pray for the unsaved, ungodly, unchurched and backslidden – for grace enough to bring them in and a bit extra to make sure they do not perish.
