The 31th day of December, 2020

“Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.” Acts 3:19-21 ESV

Here we sit somewhere between the chaos of 2020 and the unknown of 2021 – we sit somewhere between Jesus’s resurrection & ascension and the second coming.  We are only here crossing to there, during this moment.

Dear Heavenly Father – Please open our ears to hear what you are saying. Please open our eyes to see and open our understanding that we may know you. Please continue to pour out your grace upon us! Continually, all we want is more of you! – In Jesus name we pray, Amen

New Year’s Eve always feels a little like being in between two places – and this year it does all the more! So many things from last year, so many people want to put behind us and there is so much optimism for what will become of 2021.  I do love the optimist! But reports say we will never go back to what we called ‘normal’ and we will learn to adjust to a ‘new normal’.  The Bible also describes that as time progresses it will become worse and worse right into a time called the tribulation.  Please understand that I am not trying to crush your optimism. The word says it. BUT!! We know all things work together for the GOOD! And God’s good is better than great! And it is exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think!  So we sit here – in between what was and all the good and bad that is to come.

So let us continue to flee politics that seek to rise up against Christians, let us flee plagues like covid-19 and its new strands, let us flee from bondage and slavery, and let us flee. Let us press forward to the promise land, where God will pour out His blessings, let us press forward to old things being transformed and made new, let us birth the plans the Lord has for us, let us follow the Lord!

13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. 17 I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. 18 The Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I gain glory through Pharaoh, his chariots and his horsemen.”

19 Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, 20 coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.

21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, 22 and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.

23 The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots and horsemen followed them into the sea. 24 During the last watch of the night the Lord looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion. 25 He jammed the wheels of their chariots so that they had difficulty driving. And the Egyptians said, “Let’s get away from the Israelites! The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt.”

26 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.” 27 Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak the sea went back to its place. The Egyptians were fleeing toward it, and the Lord swept them into the sea. 28 The water flowed back and covered the chariots and horsemen—the entire army of Pharaoh that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not one of them survived.

29 But the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. 30 That day the Lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. 31 And when the Israelites saw the mighty hand of the Lord displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord and put their trust in him and in Moses his servant.” Exodus 14:13-31 NIV

Tonight – the Lord is fighting for us. Let us leave those things behind and let God lead us. As 2021 will not be a better year for most, we claim the victory and move into the year miraculously – as God has planned growth and goodness for those of us committed to following Him. Tonight our enemies give up and say: “the Lord is fighting for them”! Tonight the spiritual battles witch hold up the answers to our prayer are flooded and washed away.  Tonight we shall cease to be chased by pandemics and politics and we shall safely escape as God shall wash them away.  The spirit world isn’t seen with our eyes but with our spirit. And God has made a way where there is no way. We must be strong and courageous and commit our ways to Him.

Tomorrow, let us wake up with songs of praise and thanksgiving. This night will pass and tomorrow we begin walking in the promises. Not with what our eyes see – but in the knowledge of God. If He parted the sea once, and saved the Israelites over and over again despite their shortcomings – How much more can He do for us if we set our minds and hearts to obedience to Him? How much greater is His love, mercy and grace for us when we press in – up under His wings and live as He wants us to live and be blessed as He intended we were blessed and flourish as He intended us to flourish?!

Dear Heavenly Father, please fight our battles for us tonight and through 2021 and teach us how to fight as well. Please open the gates and let your blessings flow to us and through us to others in this coming year. Let us grow in our relationship with you into a greater understanding and into your power and glory. Please hear our prayer and answer them in 2021. Please make a clear and easy path to salvation for our wayward love-ones and draw them into grace and a relationship with you in 2021. Please cause miraculous transformations of the prodigals in 2021. Please set hearts on fire for you in 2021. Please let 2021 be a year of awakening, revival, restoration, love, mercy and grace! In the name of Jesus we pray – Amen
